The new iPhone SE: Inexpensive alternative?
Apple unveiled the new iPhone SE on April 15, 2020.
Dubbed the "Corona iPhone" by many, the iPhone SE is supposed to be an affordable alternative to Apple's current flagship models, i.e. the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro.
In this country, it is supposed to cost just 479? Those who want to exchange it for an older model will only pay 339?
But what can we really expect from the iPhone SE? We took a closer look at Apple's announcement.

A Hammer price From Apple
If you look at the prices of past iPhone models, the price of the new iPhone SE causes astonishment at first glance.
Except for the iPhone 5C and the 1st generation iPhone SE, the prices of Apple's iPhones went steadily upwards. From model to model, the Californian smartphone manufacturer increased its iPhone prices.
It is therefore very pleasing that Apple has once again cheaper devicet on the market, which is suitable for all those who do not need all the bells and whistles of the latest generations.
The View under the hood
The iPhone SE also supports Apple's latest AR features.
The iPhone SE 2nd generation comes with a storage capacity of 64 GB and a screen size of 4.7 inches - as we already know from the iPhone 8 (Retina).
Unlike the aging iPhone 8, however, the iPhone SE 2 will do its job much faster. This is ensured by the modern A13 SoC chipwhich was also installed in the latest iPhone 11 Pro. Apple definitely did not save money here.
The brand-new chip ensures that the iPhone, which looks like an iPhone 8 from the outside, can perform at new heights - apps launch smoother than ever and performance-intensive games can be played without any problems.
While the latest models rely on OLED screens, the iPhone SE still features a conventional LCD screen for use.
Cool features for little money
Even though the 2nd generation iPhone SE is so cheap, Apple has given it a few exciting features donated.
For example, the integrated Portrait mode for automatically blurring the background while keeping the foreground sharp - this can even be changed after shooting.
Although the iPhone SE 2 does not have 3 cameras, like the iPhone 11 Pro - but Smart HDR is also supposed to deliver beautiful exposure effects in combination with the powerful processor.
As far as the camera is concerned, Apple promises the following with this device 4K video recording.
Stable & durable
The iPhone SE 2 is available for Water protected for up to 30 minutes. According to the manufacturer, it should also cope well with other contaminants, such as dust or splash water.
The Battery lasts up to 13 hours. According to Apple.
If you've ever owned an iPhone, you know that while the battery is really good at first, the performance drops off rapidly.
Fortunately, you can charge it to 50% in 30 minutes with a quick charger.
What speaks for this & what against it?
For The new iPhone SE is really very inexpensive and still has state-of-the-art hardware. Especially the latest Apple processor A13 is impressive. And not only that: Apart from iPhone 11-specific features, you actually get everything that you would expect from a good smartphone with the iPhone SE 2.
Against The fact that the iPhone SE 2 still has the old-fashioned iPhone home button and no bezel-less display speaks for itself. The battery will also have to prove itself in practice.
But that's complaining at a high level.
We think that the iPhone SE 2 is suitable for all those who do not always need the latest and most expensive smartphone. Finally, Apple has again launched a smartphone that appeals to those who want an inexpensive but extremely powerful smartphone in the "classic" iPhone 6,7,8 design on a design & technology level.
By the way, the iPhone SE 2 is available in 3 colors - black, white and red - from April 24.
